Product User Manual

Please read this specification carefully before using the product,

I. Product Brief Introduction

Thank you for supporting the EduSnap Astro 53ED telescope product.

Astro 53ED is the first telescope we made and recommended. It has EduSnap, an intelligent astronomical system. This system controls the telescope to locate and track objects in space, allowing users to view the Moon, planets and stars.

II. Safety Information

  1. Do not use telescopes pointed directly at the sun or else cause irreversible damage. Make sure to use professional solar film or solar filter.
  2. Never place it with wet and high salt to cause unexpected damage.
  3. Never use any corrosive cleaner to cause surface damage.
  4. Keep away from children, and small pieces have a suffocation risk to children.
  5. Keep the product intact; doing so will cause accuracy problems and invalidate the warranty service. If the product has any errors, contact the EduSnap server or dealer.
  6. The products are listed as precision instruments, so be careful cause accuracy decreases.
  7. EduSnap reserves the right to modify the hardware and software specifications described in this manual at any time without prior notice.
  8. EduSnap does not respond to any use that is not wise.

V. Quick Use Guide

Step 1: Installing the device

  1. Install Tripod
    Based on situation, increase/decrease the angle needed.
  2. Adjust the tripod center column height
    Release the lock, turn the knob until the height you want, then lock it.
  3. Install the Main Body
    Align the 3/8" threaded hole at the bottom of the Astro 53ED altazimuth mount with the 3/8' screw on the tripod, then tighten the screw to ensure the mount is securely installed. 
  4. Install the Main Telescope and Smart Zenith Mirror
    Insert the provided telescope into the dovetail slot according to the direction indicated by the telescope icon. Install the smart zenith mirror, and use the included C-to-C cable to connect the smart zenith mirror to the Astro 53ED altazimuth mount.
  5. Position the Telescope Correctly
    Orient the main telescope roughly towards true north. Observe the bubble level on the tripod and adjust the tripod to ensure the equipment is level.
  6. Connect the Power
    Use the included C-to-C cable to connect the Type-C interface on the Astro 53ED altazimuth mount, marked with a power icon, to a fast-charging mobile power source*. The device will automatically power on.
    * Any power bank that supply fast charging.

Step 2: Initial Setup and Device Connection

  1. Download App
    Scan the QR code with your mobile phone to install the APP, or search for "EduSnap in major app stores to LII download and install it.
  2. Set Up Wi-Fl
    Turn on Wi-Fi on your mobile phone, In Wi-Fl settings and find the Wi-Fl named EDU-XXXXXX. Enter the initial password 12345678 to connect to the camera, and the connection is complete.
  3. Confirm connection status
    Open the EduSnap APP and see the green icon "Start Observing" displayed in the lower right corner, which means that the mobile phone and the telescope are successfully connected.

Step 3: Use the Device

  1. Adjust the proper focus
    After powering on the device, adjust the proper focus and wait for it to automatically return to zero. Turn the focus wheel handle to align the infinity scale on the focusing tube with the edge. This adjustment ensures that the CMOS sensor can effectively capture star points.
  2. Finding Astronomical that Want to Measure
    In any mode, the EduSnap APP allows you to choose any sky feature that you want to measure by pressing "GOTO." The scope will automatically turn to the sky feature.
  3. Method for Capturing Targets
    After you find a sky object as a target, simply click the photo button at the bottom of the screen to start capturing it. The smart zenith mirror will automatically process and stack the image.

VII. After-sales and Warranty Service

  1. EduSnap provides a three-year warranty for products purchased directly from us, starting from the day the user receives the product.
  2. If users discovers a quality issue with the product within 30 days of receipt, contact with EduSnap. If the service center confirms that the product has quality issues or defects, EduSnap will provide a free replacement service.
  3. For quality issues within the warranty period, EduSnap will cover both the shipping costs for pairs. Users should contact customer service before returning the product, provide necessary proof, and then send the product back.

    If a replacement is needed, users should return the product with its original packaging and all accessories to the designated address.

    If there are repair costs, EduSnap will send the product back after payment.

  4. Or products purchased through EduSnap agents, can directly contact the agent for related after-sales service.
  5. The following conditions are not covered by the warranty, but EduSnap can provide repair services:
    1. Products that are out of warranty.
    2. Products with liquid damage or corrosion.
    3. Products damaged by external force (e.g., broken or deformed casing, fractured USB ports, structural damage).
    4. Damage caused by improper use by the user.
    5. Damage due to irresistible factors (e.g., lightning strikes, rain, fire, floods).
    6. Unauthorized disassembly, modification, or repair.
    7. Products purchased from second-hand platforms.
    8. Products without a warranty certificate or purchase invoice.

* When quality issues occur with the accessories that come with the product, not conditions for replacing the main unit, it can be separately replacing the faulty accessories for users.
